延命閣 Enmeikaku, the VIP guest house at Hoshi Ryokan

延命閣 Enmeikaku

Hoshi Ryokan has been proud of the elegant separate quarter called Enmeikaku, which has been used for VIP guests only since the Meiji period.
In the past, only royals and outstanding figures could stay here.

Admiral Sukeyuki Ito in Meiji-Era named Enmeikaku.
Ever since then, Hoshi had the privilege of welcoming Japanese Royal family members such as Prince Kayanomiya, Prince Mikasanomiya and Princess Takamatsunomiya.

Enmeikaku has 5 rooms.

Traditional Japanese Toilet is preserved here in Enmeikaku.
Of course the western style modern toilet is also available.

Bathroom is also a very traditional classic Japanese style.
You can enjoy pure hot spring conducted from the in-house spring source.

This is the garden of Hoshi connected to Enmeikaku.
The garden was designed by the famous landscape architect Enshu Kobori in the early of 17th century.

The foods of local sea and mountains are well-known in Japan.
The privacy of guests is fully protected.
Even the sumptuous feast cuisine is delivered by the private waitresses using the underground tunnel from the kitchen in the main building.

Hoshi will try to meet any requests of Enmeikaku Guests.
